Keira Knightley in Begin Again (2013) puts her own character when it comes to dressing for living in a New York bathed in sun and music. She's all about comfortable, over-sized pants tightened with a belt to outline her slim figure and simple, neutral-toned tops with light fabrics to create a boyish, nonchalant attitude. She strolls around the Big Apple with a guitar on her back and when she is not entirely lost in listening to music or probably composing songs in her head, she hangs around with a worn-out music producer and a bunch of musicians who decide to record an album outdoors.
Throughout the film, Keira has you thinking: why do I even bother with tight clothes and layering? but the harsh truth of reality hits you when you realize, hey, you're not Keira Knightley, you're not a fully-immersed-in-music New Yorker, and finally that kind of weather in the UK? Girl, this is simply absurd.
